Musical Events - 07/08 Season
Nov. 27, Tuesday,
at 7:30 in the Immanuel Sanctuary, Joyous Sounds for a Festive
Season will be presented by the USM Chamber Singers, under the
direction of Dr. Robert Russell. A $9 donation will be requested at the
door.
Dec. 9, Sunday, at 2 pm in the Immanuel Sanctuary, MUSIC AT
IMMANUEL will host the full-scale production of Amahl and the
Night Visitors, under the direction of Ellen Chickering and the
co-direction of Aaron Robinson, who will be at the pipe organ. Opera
participants will be from the Opera Workshop at USM. Tickets will be $10
for adults, $5 for students). [This is a Music at Immanuel event.]
Jan. 20, Sunday, at 10:30 am, The USM
Chamber Singers will provide concert music throughout the service
of worship at Immanuel. There is no cost for t his presentation.
April 6, Sunday, at 2 pm, Music at Immanuel will present
John Rutter's Mass for the Children, by the
Immanuel Baptist Church Adult Choir (conducted by Aaron Robinson)
and Portland's Musica de Filia girl's choir (directed by Jaye Churchill).
Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for children. [This is a Music
at Immanuel event.]
April 20, Sunday, at 2 pm The USM Chorale's
Spring Concert will be presented in the Immanuel Sanctuary. It
is directed by Dr. Robert Russell, with Aaron Robinson as guest organist,
and planning to present Mendelssohn's Elijah. Tickets
will be $10 for adults, $5 for students. [This is a Music at Immanuel
event.]

Immanuel has been richly blessed with the tradition of presenting music
which encompasses all walks of life and draws from many languages and
cultures from around the world. Whether it is a sacred anthem, a
gospel spiritual, or a classical chorale, we strive to present a standard
of quality and commitment through God’s gift of melody, harmony and song.

Adult Choir
Ages: 18 and over
Rehearsal times and location: Wednesdays, 6:45pm in the IBC Choir
Room, Sunday mornings, 8:25am, and Sunday morning worship, 10:30am. Please note: Singers interested in joining the choir must make an
appointment to meet with Music Director, Aaron Robinson, beforehand (775-2301).
